Activities at Crabwall Hall Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Jacqui Cameron
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.

Residents take a walk on the wild side
Crabwall Hall care home, in Mollington was full of animal mischief this week when the Zoo came to visit the home and residents took a walk on the wild side.
Residents at Crabwall Hall were pleasantly surprised to see animals such as hedgehogs, Iguana’s and tropical birds being taken around their home for everyone to have a hold as Zoo2U paid a visit.
General Manager Kirsty Jones said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitors today. We knew that having the Zoo here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus. We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”
Residents have 'Holi' fun
Barchester’s Crabwall Hall care home, in Chester celebrated the Hindu festival of Holi, which takes place on March 8th.
Holi is a fun-packed festival that marks the end of winter and the start of spring, it focuses on love and new life. Holi celebrates the Hindu god Krishna and the legend of Holika and Prahlad. One of the messier festivals, Holi is also known as the festival of colours and is celebrated by the throwing of colourful powder paint and coloured water along with singing and dancing.
Virtual Book Club
We had a lovely time joining Mark Piesing for an exciting virtual event to discuss his book ‘N-4 Down: The Hunt for The Arctic Airship Italia’.
Our residents were thrilled to find out more about the book and the fascinating story of the world-famous exploring airship Italia, returning from the North Pole on May 24, 1928. The airship was struck by a terrible storm and crashed somewhere over the Arctic ice, triggering the largest polar rescue mission in history.
Historic Royal Palaces
Our residents were treated to a special virtual sensory storytelling session. Together with Art Historian Jon Sleigh and the Historic Royal Palaces community team, we explored several royal palaces through the theme of food, dining and celebration!
We enjoyed a fantastic taste-a-long experience from the comfort of our home, from Tudor treats to Stuart sweets. A lovely time was had by all.
