Activities at Cumberland Grange Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Gosia Andrews
Hello, my name is Gosia and I am the Activities Co-Ordinator here at Cumberland Grange.
I have been in the care sector since 2008, and I also have a degree in teaching. I am here to arrange and run a varied Life Enrichment Programme which is full of fun activities for our residents to take part in. We do lots of different activities here which change on a regular basis, including weekly trips out in our mini bus, flower arranging, live musical performances, arts and crafts, cheese and wine nights and so much more. We also have groups which happen every week, mostly lead by our residents, including Poetry Club, Gardening Club, Politics and Pastries, Cumberland Grange Choir and Knit and Natter.
We have monthly resident meetings where we discuss life at Cumberland Grange. We talk about the activities that we currently run, including activities that our residents would like us to incorporate into the planner.
Making wishes come true is also something that we love to do. So, if our resident has a wish, together we try our best to make that happen, because life at Cumberland is about having fun and making even more special memories.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Cumberland Grange Care Home

Just look how amazing these pictures are!
This week, we had such a wonderful visit from some of the children at Kiddi Caru Nursery (Sowton) who brought in lots of beautiful pictures for Cumberland Granges 3rd Birthday party today.
Using a Birthday cake template the children got creative and done such a fabulous job as you can see.
There were four classes, Oak, Fern, Willow and Bracken and our residents chose one winner from each class - it was an almost impossible task as ALL pictures were simply fantastic. But they did manage (after much time!) to decide and today Mica our Home Services Advisor popped down to deliver the goods.
Prizes included story books, colouring books, games and creative sets.
We’d love to thank all of the children for taking part. You made our residents day!
We can’t wait to see you all again soon.

Our Annual Dog Show
A hugely successful Dog Show here at Cumberland Grange this afternoon!
We can't thank enough all of the participants for coming along and treating our residents to a wonderful afternoon.
We also would like to say a huge thank you to our Activities team for organising this wholesome event.
Our residents definitely had a tough decision choosing the winners as they were all so phenomenal.
A Huge shout out also to Kelly Marie Photography . Kelly provided the winners of the competition a free 1 Hour dog shoot! We can't wait to see the photos! Please check out her website linked below if you wish to have your very own doggy photo shoot.

Evening trips out
As everyone knows our residents adore their pub trips on Tuesdays! Here's some pictures from some of our recent visits.
Getting out and about is a huge part of life here at Cumberland Grange. We are always looking for new places to go.

Gardening Club
This morning some of our residents enjoyed our weekly gardening club out on the patio area as the sun started to swoop around and the warmth began to fill the air.
This week we focused on re-potting and tidying many of our hanging baskets from our terrace areas, and once finished we checked on our raised planters and gave them a good water and spruce up.
A successful morning in our totally beautiful garden!

Cumberland Grange Choir
We absolutely love our Monday afternoons here at Cumberland Grange.
Our choir is one of our residents favourite activities. Our choir is not just about singing, it's about community, bringing all of our residents and relatives together.
Singing releases endorphins, serotonin and dopamine, making it a staple activity for all of our residents.
We treasure our residents passion for the arts, and will always promote ways in order for our residents to express themselves.

Enjoying the sunshine
Well, hasn’t the weather this weekend been glorious.
Yesterday afternoon we soaked up the sunshine in our beautiful garden whilst listening to music and enjoying delicious cream teas.
