Activities at Emily Jackson House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team continues to offer a wide range of activities to both mentally and physically stimulate our residents. Our activities include one to one shopping, group outings in our minibus, and regularly attending our local church and bowling club. We also enjoy the entertainment from the musicians who come and visit us as well as our PAT dog. We have a range of activities so residents with all abilities and talents can join in activities and social gatherings. We encourage families and volunteers to share the joy with us by taking part in our social events as well.

Life at Emily Jackson House Care Home

Flower Arranging
Such a simple activity but it gave such pleasure and a sense of achievement.
A group of ladies gathered to arrange flowers in the vases for the dining room tables. We sat and surveyed our work, ate home-made cake, sipped tea and marvelled at the beauty of flowers, noting all the different colours and shapes.
Beverley, Joan's daughter joined us and remembered a flowerbed at her Mother’s home bursting with Roses and Alstromerias. They enjoyed this shared memory together.

Sevenoaks Festival
Yesterday we hosted ‘June B’ (The Listening Room Music Agency ) singing as part of the Sevenoaks Festival.
Luckily the sun was shining and we were able to enjoy the music in the garden. We were pleased to be joined by family, friends and members of the community.
What we now know as The Sevenoaks Festival began in 1970 by the headmaster at Sevenoaks School upgraded its previously internal “Paean” a series of musical events inaugurated in 1968 to celebrate the end of exams. The school hoped that it would be the “start of an annual event which would benefit the whole local community.”

Garden Party
What a fabulous afternoon we had at our Garden Party!
The sun was shining and the music was great. Kieran put on a wonderful performance and had us all singing along.
Thanks to all the families that came and made the day extra special and fun.
A lovely time had by all.

Trip to the lavender fields
Beautiful trip out to see the Lavender fields at Castle Farm, Kent. Thank you to staff there for being so helpful and kind.
We soaked up the stunning scenery and enjoyed a cheeky ice cream.
Joan said “What a wonderful trip! I thoroughly enjoyed myself”

More celebrations at Emily Jackson House!
We celebrated the Kings birthday by eating the English favourite- Victoria Sponge and English tea. The residents made the delicious treats themselves and as you can see they were very much appreciated.
And we also celebrated Father’s Day. Residents at the home enjoyed a ‘pub style’ lunch followed by a pub quiz and games.
Thanks to Barry the landlord at The Anchor, Sevenoaks who helped with items to give the home a ‘pub feel’.

Wow what a day! What a party!
We had not one but two birthday celebrations yesterday and Clayton from Muzical Entertainerz made the party go with a bang!
The residents faces lit up with his great selection of songs and amusing antics.
Always a fun day when Clayton is the house
