Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Miniature American Horses Visit Falmouth Court

There was huge excitement at Falmouth Court as some Miniature American Horses came by to visit the residents and staff as a festive treat.

Staff and residents had a wonderful time learning about the very friendly horses owned by one of the homes care team Gail Bastian, finding out about their habits and what they like to eat. Several of the residents got to feed the horses some of their favourite treats.

General Manager, Alexandria Bowman said: “We had the best time with the horses, they are such gorgeous creatures. Our residents loved spending time with them, I do hope they come back to visit us soon.”

Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

'Elf Day' Coffee Morning for Alzheimer's Society

What an extremely fun day we had for 'Elf Day'. We held a coffee morning in aid of Alzheimer's Society raising £43 for the charity. Our staff all dressed as elf's and our chef made a plethora of cakes and treats for everyone to enjoy. Our Activities team then carried out a Christmas themed quiz.

We had friends and family and even some local members of the community come along.

Christmas Light Switch On

Lighting up time got a whole new meaning at Falmouth Court Care Home as the community came together to see the home’s Christmas lights switched on for the very first time this Christmas.

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Falmouth Court care home, in Falmouth, got in the Christmas spirit by inviting the community to come and join in with staff and residents who all gathered in the home’s lounge for the occasion. Even the Lord Mayor of Falmouth was in attendance for the afternoons festivities.

Everyone enjoyed a wonderful performance from the Carrick U3A Choir and the Christmas tree looked amazing when the Lord Mayor, flicked the switch for the big reveal.

There was mulled wine and mince pies all prepared by head chef, Jonathan Moyle for everyone to enjoy after the performance. The Christmas tree looked amazing when Falmouth’s Lord Mayor, flicked the switch for the big reveal.

General Manager, Alexandria Bowman said: “We absolutely love Christmas here at Falmouth Court, it is such a special time and we all love decorating the home and having a lovely big tree which this year was kindly sponsored by William Highbourne Wealth Management."
