Activities at Field House Care Home
The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.
Caroline Davis
Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.
Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.
In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

Life at Field House Care Home
Making Delicious Flapjacks
The residents here at Field House get regular one to one activities with our Activity Coordinator, Caroline. This lovely lady, Betty, asked if she could make flap jacks as she really enjoyed them. We had a wonderful time making delicious treats. Betty told me that her husband didn’t like flapjacks as they always got stuck in his teeth.
Beautiful Watercolour Painting
Supporting a resident to continue a hobby she has enjoyed for many years makes Field House such a special place to live and work. This lady told me how doing her water colours made her feel relaxed and content, and so we set about helping her continue to create her beautiful artwork.
Valentines Day at Field House
We had a fantastic valentine’s day here at field house. Our chef Dan prepared a lovely meal,we invited people that we knew would be on the own for the day. After lunch we were entertained by the amazing Kerry’s Nostalgic Music and she didn’t disappoint. Everyone had a wonderful day.
National Pizza Day
Residents here at Field House have had a fantastic time celebrating National Pizza Day!
We rolled out fresh dough and prepared all of our toppings. Everyone got to choose their favourite toppings and no two pizzas were the same. The best part of the day though, was eating them! They were delicious!
Healthcare Professionals Appreciation Day
Field House wanted to say a huge thank you to our health care professionals for all the hard work they do for our home. Enjoying a fresh coffee and toasted tea cake, two of our hard working nurses, we just wanted to say thank you for all that you do.
National Flower Day
A special flower arrangement was created with everyone’s help at Field House this morning. The residents chose to give it to the staff at Mayfair community centre in church Stretton, for all they do for our community. One of our ladies was thrilled to present it to them in the afternoon.
