Activities at Field House Care Home
The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.
Caroline Davis
Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.
Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.
In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

Residents enjoyed playing some board games whilst having a cuppa.
Employee of the Month - January
Congratulations to Senior Carer, Lana Cleeton, who was named as January's Employee of the Month here at Field House.
She was nominated for always being very helpful, kind and caring, having lots of time for residents, going above and beyond to help out staff and residents; always being prepared to help out whenever and wherever possible; and being cheerful, helpful and hard working.
Preparing for Open Day
Staff have been busy preparing for our open day. It's going to be lots of fun!
Christmas Meal
Residents enjoyed their Christmas meal out at the Longmide; everyone enjoyed three courses and sherry on arrival. Party games and entertainment was put on by staff members and loved ones.
Day Out at Dobbie's
Residents from Field House enjoyed going up to Dobbie’s Garden Centre to choose plants and enjoy a cuppa with some jam scones. This has now become a firm favourite day out for residents at the home.
Christmas Fête
We hosted our Christmas Fête on 9th December 2017. We had a number of different stools with homemade cakes, ranging from sponge cakes, muffins, mince pies, ginger cakes, cupcakes and many more, with freshly made biscuits. We also had a lucky dip stand and a tombola, with some lovely top prizes. Santa came to hang out in his grotto and was visited by children, who received a gift from him. There was a lovely buffet for all residents, loved ones and visitors, in addition to plenty of mulled wine and Prosecco for our guests. We managed to raise £180 in total, which went towards the residents' fund.
