Activities at Florence Court Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jessica Duery
I have been working in the Care Sector for 5 years and started out as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant. I decided that I wanted to progress my career in an Activities capacity so became an activities provider then progressed to an Activities Co-Ordinator which I did for 2 years prior to joining the team at Florence Court . I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the residents life's through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and spending time with them finding out what they love to do. Every day is very different and rewarding.

Life at Florence Court Care Home
Fathers Day Fun
Happy Father's Day! We celebrated the day with a family Sunday Roast dinner in honour of all our fathers at Florence Court, prepared by our wonderful kitchen team. Residents enjoyed an afternoon with loved ones, reminiscing, enjoying quality time and raising a toast to mark the day with some delicious cocktails
Keeping fit and active to have fun
Remaining active as you get older is very important. Begining this week we have started up a weekly exercise class on a Friday morning with instructor Anita. Our residents loved getting involved today in some gentle physical exercises to our favourite up beat tunes We all felt the benefits afterwards and are very much looking forward to our next session
Sun, Sea and Salt Cafe
Making the most of the lovely weather with a morning minibus trip down to Salt Cafe to enjoy ice creams and refreshments on the waterfront
Tour de Barchester
Tour de Barchester!
This morning we had the honour of being the first stop on day 3 of the wonderful charity bike ride our senior team are doing. Over four days they will cycle 276miles from Exeter to Purley, stopping at 15 new care homes across Barchesters South division, raising funds for Barchesters Charitable foundation!
To welcome them we enjoyed a nutrional breakfast with freshly made delicious smoothies
Our team then helped raise fund with a bake sale and spin-a-thon where we managed an amazing 50 miles!
A big thank you to Holly Hill Leisure Centre for very kindly lending us one of their spin bikes and to Conor and James from Meon Health Practice for coming to support

National Donut Day
National Donut Day 🍩
There's no better way to spend a lovely afternoon, than in the sun enjoying donuts and cocktails with friends 🥰
A healthy body and happy mind
We understand the importance of remaining active and celebrated National Senior Health and Fitness day with a variety of fun-filled activities.
Residents enjoyed some light exercise with a game of badminton both indoors and out, walks round the garden whilst others participated in a virtual seated exercise session with the use of our pedal exercisers.
We also took the time to learn more about the benefits of physical activity and how it can improve anxiety and overall well-being.
