Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Glebefields Care Home
Open Day
We're open and welcoming visitors. Do pop in and meet the team, take a coffee break with us today, and wonder around our beautiful home. Our residents can't wait to show it off!
We also have a small pop-up market showcasing several local independent provider goods. Come and join us - There's a slice of homemade cake, and goodie bag ready and waiting just for you.
Wild at 'Art'
We've been going wild with Arts & Crafts this week. Using paints and tissue paper to create textured lions and personalised pieces.
Armchair Exercise with Jo
Our residents enjoyed a gentle armchair exercise session with local lady Jo Merry who specialises in promoting wellbeing through controlled breathing and movement.
What a wonderful way to wake up or wind-down.
Celebrating International Beer Day
You better beer-lieve that our residents were more than happy to raise a glass, and sample some top craft ales, bitters and lagers, in celebration of International Beer Day.
The activities team set up a bar and brought in a range of brew-tiful British and International ales for residents to sample, there were plenty of 'cheers everyone' throughout the session as the group learnt all about each brew.
Fun in the sun on Yorkshire Day!
Yorkshire Day is a yearly celebration on 1 August to promote the historic county of Yorkshire, England. Few of our residents at Glebefields care home spent time learning more about the history relating to Yorkshire Day. They were so excited and helped us to decorate our home for Yorkshire day event. We had a great afternoon being entertained by 'Mr John Richards' who sang songs sung by Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Dean Martin and many more crooner artists.
Common Wealth Games
The Commonwealth Games, often referred to as the Friendly Games, is a quadrennial international multi-sport event among athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The Games were called the British Empire Games from 1930 to 1950, the British Empire and Commonwealth Games from 1954 to 1966, and British Commonwealth Games from 1970 to 1974.
Its good to see our residents participating in preparing the display board for commonwealth game. They were very eager to know about all the games and to see live shows of commonwealth game on TV.
Few residents did also enjoyed playing scrabble during this time.
