Activities at Hagley Place Care Home

Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Mandy Hayward

Activities Coordinator

I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Naomi is a 'Singing for the Brain' leader for the Alzheimer's Society, and she came to Hagley to lead a session with residents. It was a brilliant time and everyone joined in.

Holy Communion

Holy Communion

Every mont,  we have the local vicar come to give service and then holy communion afterwards. The vicar is kind enough to take around the Eucharist to the less mobile residents.

Clay Therapy

Clay Therapy

We used clay as a mobility and manipulation therapy, moulding it with our hands and fingers into different shapes to encourage flexibility and movement in arthritic joints.

Watercolours

Watercolours

We had a lovely morning painting with watercolours during our weekly art class. We learnt about shades of colour and how to apply depth using watercolours.
