Activities at Hagley Place Care Home
Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Mandy Hayward
I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home
National Puzzle Day
Pens were at the ready on National Puzzle Day with crosswords, word searches, code words, Sudoku and Scrabble all testing the knowledge of residents, staff and visitors alike. The concentration was palpable in Hagley Place and everyone agreed that it was a puzzlingly great day.
Burns Night
Hagley Place was full of Scottish cheer on Burns Night! We made some delicious Scottish shortbread in the morning (and sampled it to make sure it was indeed delicious!) and then, in the afternoon, we had a wonderful time with Debbie Miles singing and dancing to all of the old favourites!
Residents, staff and guests alike had a delightful time and everyone agreed that we certainly set off Burns Night with a bang!
Open Day Ponies
Hagley was excited to welcome therapy ponies on our open day. The miniature Shetlands were a delight to residents and visitors alike, and even visited residents in their rooms! The surprised gasps of awe were amazing to hear and no one could quite believe that there were actually ponies in the building.
Parachute Party!
Residents and staff alike had a whale of a time with the parachute. It was complete chaos and there was lots of laughter as we tried to keep the balloons and balls moving towards the other side of the parachute. It was so much fun and the residents have requested to use it again in our weekly exercise activities.
Happy Birthday, Elvis!
Hagley Place was rocking out for the King of Rock 'n' Roll’s birthday. Paul Watkins performed some of his greatest hits, and we were dancing and singing along all afternoon!
Theatre Trip
Residents and staff alike had a wonderful time at the dementia-friendly performance of Peter Pan at The Courtyard in Hereford!
