Activities at Hagley Place Care Home
Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Mandy Hayward
I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home
Top of the Table!
Hagley residents, staff and families have been busy beavering away to make Christmas table centres ready for the Christmas Shopping Extravaganza on the 20th December.
College Christmas Meal
Ludlow College’s annual Christmas meal for the elderly is a highly anticipated event with the residents, and we always look forward to going to this wonderful event!
Christmas Card Creations
Staff and residents had a wonderful wet and rainy afternoon in the warm and dry making Christmas cards. Many stories were told about creating cards over the year and residents shared their memories of when they were children during the war, how they would make and send Christmas cards to their friends and family as commercially printed versions were far too expensive or completely unavailable to them. It was fascinating to hear about how the world has changed.
Moor Park Carol Singers
Hagley Place was delighted to welcome Moor Park school once again, this time for an afternoon carol recital. The children sang all of the old favourites, Jingle Bells, We Three Kings and many more to the delight of the residents and the staff. Residents remarked that they felt very Christmassy afterwards and expressed hoped that the children will come again soon. Hagley Place would like to thank Moor Park for being so generous with their time.
Paper Snowflakes
Residents and staff took a trip back through time to create some amazing paper snowflakes, this activity was full of reminiscence and both staff and residents chatted about how each used to make paper snowflakes when they were younger and with their children.
Christmas Tree Competition
Residents and staff were excited for this year’s Christmas tree competition! Each unit was given the task to decorate their tree with the winner being chosen by votes from the heads of department. The winners were then given a box of chocolates to share and a certificate!
