Activities at Hagley Place Care Home
Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Mandy Hayward
I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home
What do you know?
Residents and staff had a puzzling afternoon during Hagley Place’s big quiz! The quiz sparked discussions about travel, food, literature, shared experiences and much more, including some surprising stories. Residents and staff both shared their history and tales, including their first holiday, first trip to see a live performance, learning how to make bread and more.
Christmas is Coming!
Hagley Place has well and truly started Christmas, with our Knit & Natter group already making festive stockings for a re-useable advent calendar! Residents, staff and the public have taken up their needles or hooks to make handcrafted Christmas decorations in preparation of Hagley’s Christmas Shopping Extravaganza on the 20th December (5pm – 9pm).
Remembrance Day
Staff at Hagley made Remembrance Day extra special this year by decorating the lounge and inviting residents to gather to watch the service on the television together. It was a very emotional time for everyone, but the care and respect shown to honour the fallen was well received.
Indoor Street Party
Residents, staff and the public had a proper knees up at Hagley’s Indoor Street Party! The live Glenn Miller band went down a treat and the traditional food from the '40s was relished. Everyone had a rip-roaring good time, including the staff, who went the extra step and dressed up for the occasion! Zara, our Head Chef, made an amazing two tier cake that was hand-decorated with poppies!
Remembrance Service
Residents, staff and the public were invited to join us for a remembrance service in the lounge, led by Marina Clent. The service was simple and touching and was enjoyed by all.
Soggy Safari
Residents were delighted to go on a 'soggy safari'! Although the rain was coming down, spirits were up as we went back to the West Midlands Safari Park to enjoy more animals! Despite the weather, it was still a great time and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the animals and even feeding a few!
