Activities at Hagley Place Care Home
Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Mandy Hayward
I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home
An Egg-celent Time
Staff, residents and guests at Hagley Place in Ludlow were 'egg-cited' to see a live chicken walking the hallways and visiting the residents in their rooms.
‘Pocky’ the chicken was brought in by Jenny Jones to visit with the residents. Pocky was hand-raised by Jenny five years ago and lives with her in her home in Ludlow. Residents were able to hold and pet Pocky who seemed to be very comfortable in the home.
Dog Day for Residents
Residents from Hagley had a great day out at the Ludlow Dog Day. They saw a range of entertaining displays and enjoyed some ice cream as well!
Staff BBQ
Shann Thomas, General Manager of Hagley Place, treated the staff to a delicious home-cooked Texan barbecue to say thank you for all of the hard work that they do.
Animal Magic
Residents, staff and the public alike were fascinated and enthralled by the weird and wonderful creatures that came to visit the home recently. Even Ollie, our Maintenance Manager, who is very afraid of snakes, plucked up the courage to hold one!
Knitting for Arthritis
Our knit and natter sessions here at Hagley Place are proving to be very popular, not just for the chat and the laugh, but for helping those with arthritis as well. Knitting is a gentle and effective exercise for those living with arthritis and it also helps to give some people more mobility in the hands.
Our knit and natter sessions run every Monday and Thursday mornings and everyone is welcome!
