Activities at Hagley Place Care Home

Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Mandy Hayward

Activities Coordinator

I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Zoolab Comes to Hagley Place

Residents were awed and excited to welcome Zoolab to Hagley Place. From giant snails to tiny mice, there was something to wow everyone. The rat was the most popular animal, with everyone holding and stroking it while Jess, the trainer, spoke in depth about the animals' diets, lifestyle and told us some fun and interesting facts about the creatures.

Residents said that they had a good time and had learnt a lot and they were looking forward to the next visit.

Fun on the Water

Residents donned their hats for a trip on the water with the Silver Lady. The Heulwen Trust kindly took us out for a relaxing journey up the canal, where we saw lots of interesting wildlife and just let the world go by. Residents thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere and the stunning views and wildlife. We hope to go again before Christmas!

Summer Fête Fun

On Saturday 19th August, residents and staff at Hagley Place worked hard to host a Summer Fête to raise money for Ludlow Carers Group and Parkinson's UK.

Residents made cards and cake for the stalls and families donated various items for the raffle and tombola. The chefs organised and hosted a BBQ, which was a popular attraction for the visitors.

Head Housekeeper, Stephanie Evans, manned the Pimm's stall, which was also popular.

Resident Ambassador, Miranda, looked after the tombola and the white elephant stalls, whilst welcoming the visitors with her wonderful smile.

The crowds were entertained by ‘Misty Duo’, a local four-piece band that played hit songs from the '40s and '50s.

Hagley Place raised £393.75, which will be split between the Ludlow Carers Group and Parkinson's UK.

Employee of the Month - July

Employee of the Month - July

Congratulations to Maintenance Manager, Ollie Powis, who was named as Hagley Place's Employee of the Month for July.

Ollie is fantastic at what he does; he always keeps the home running smoothly and fixes issues very quickly. He is also excellent at keeping all staff up-to-date with the relevant training and was essential in ensuring that our Memory Lane community was painted in good time.

Dog Days for Residents

Dog Days for Residents

Hagley Place residents had a wonderful day out at Ludlow Dog Day, set in the stunning grounds of Stokesay Court. Residents met all manner of canine friends, from Great Danes to Chihuahuas and watched amazing displays of athletics and obedience in the rings. We perused the stalls and enjoyed the sunshine before heading back ‘dog’ tired, but happy.
