Activities at Hagley Place Care Home
Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Mandy Hayward
I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Life at Hagley Place Care Home
Rupert comes to visit!
Rupert Whalley the therapy horse came to visit our home. He was very well-behaved and met all of the residents. Rupert has been to Hagley Place before and every time he visits, everyone is so pleased to see him. Rupert also performs tricks - he will play football with you and even has a dance routine with his owner, Elaine.
International Nurses' Day
Our Nurses' were delighted with their chocolaty giftsthey received in recognition of International Nurses' Day.
Quiz Night
Residents, loved ones & friends enjoyed a laughter-filled evening with brain teasers, tea and biscuits in our wonderfully hilarious quiz night. Cheers of elation and huge sighs of frustration chorused though the room as the answers were made known, but all had fun and we are looking forward to the next one!
Colour Therapy
Residents had a wonderful time using colour to help express and articulate themselves in our colour therapy session recently.
New Accreditation!
We were awarded with the ’10-60-06’ accreditation after successfully implementing significant improvements to the personalised dementia care services we offer and training staff to better understand what it means to live with dementia.
The ‘10-60-06’ training and accreditation programme was developed and trialled by Barchester's Dementia Team. It will replace the company’s current dementia care programme in order to ensure the care services provided in Memory Lane communities are the best in the sector.
We were visited in April by a Dementia Care Specialist who found the home had met all the new standards and announced that we would be awarded with the ‘10-60-06’ accreditation.
Well done to everyone who made this possible!
