Activities at Hall Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Sports Day

Residents and staff at Hall Park care home, in Bulwel, Nottingham laced up their trainers and warmed-up for their annual sports day.

Staff and residents took to their marks in the egg and spoon, wheelbarrow and three-legged races as guests cheered on. The teams battled it out to be crowned sporting champions by home manager before being treated to a winner’s buffet of fresh sandwiches, home-made carrot cake and Prims.

General Manager Jodie Rakhra said: “We always encourage our residents to keep active. With summer on the way we had a great opportunity to move our activities outside to make the most of the weather. Our residents and their guest really enjoyed today and it was lovely to see so many of them getting involved. It reminded all of us of when we were kids at school!”

Musical mystery tour

Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.

Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.

The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.

Indian Independence Day

Staff and residents at Hall Park care Home got the flags out and celebrated 75th Indian Independence Day in style by hosting a ranch inspired party Indian traditional dancing and Indian food on 15th August 2022.

Many residents have visited India and some have family living there so Indian Independence Day was a great excuse to reminisce about previous trips and go on virtual tours to favourite places such as New Delhi, Kolkata etc. Residents enjoyed movies from the Bollywood as well as dancing to playlists including Bollywood songs. Our home was decorated with themed flags and bunting and we all enjoyed watching Indian cultural ceremonies.

Head Chef enjoyed cooking up chicken curry, tandoori vegan kebabs, Stuffed paratha and traditional snacks and sweets. Jodie Rakhra General Manager at Hall Park Care Home said: “Independence Day is always full of big flavours and a chance for us to celebrate all things Indian.
