Activities at Hall Park Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Natasha Lindo
Natasha is the Activities Coordinator here at Hall Park. Natasha really enjoys her job as no two days are ever the same. The life enrichment and daily activities program aims to provide stimulation for the mind, body and soul by engaging with residents daily. We all love to use our imagination and here we encourage creative activities. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Life at Hall Park Care Home
Valentine's Day
Residents got involved in card making session, where they enjoyed using a variety of materials to make their own personalised cards and showing their creative skills.
Valentine’s Day would be filled with fun entertainments, including music performance and heart themed activities.
Visitors are welcome to join the activities on 14th of February from 11:00 am for hours of entertainment and delicious treats.
Pancake Day
Hall Park has marked this year’s Pancake Day with pancake race, pancake flipping competition and of course, lots of pancakes! The head chef at the home, flipped more than 100 pancakes, serving them up with sweet and savoury fillings for all the eager staff and residents.
She said: “My secret to the best pancakes is all in the whipping. Give it some elbow grease when mixing the batter and you’ll get perfect pancakes every time. I like experimenting with the fillings – the residents’ favourites are spinach and cheese, chocolate spread and banana and of course, good old fashioned lemon and sugar!”
The residents at Hall Park commented: “I absolutely love pancake day, it takes me back to my childhood when my mother used to make us all pancakes and we’d all wait in turn for ours hoping the batter would stretch to another. We’ve had so much fun reminiscing and sharing our favourite recipes for fillings.”
National Storytelling Week
Residents at Hall Park have been finding out the favourite stories of residents and staff, and sharing them during National Storytelling Week.
Many of the residents at Hall Park care home have a knack of telling a great story or two, and National Storytelling Week is a perfect opportunity to experience the joy of storytelling.
Storytelling is one of the oldest art forms in the world so, to help keep the custom alive, residents have been reading their own favourite short stories, tales that they were told as children to other residents, their families at home. Residents have also been reciting some of their own creative written works to other residents and their families at the home.
Residents at Hall Park invited the children from the local nursery to the home to listen to their favourite bed time stories.
Burns Night at Hall Park
Staff and residents at Hall Park were involved in a number of activities. Learning the art of Scottish Country Dancing and the Ceilidh to mark the Scottish institution, including giving the time-honoured address to the ‘Great chieftain O’ the pudding race’ – the haggis.
General Manager, Jodie, thought it was a perfect occasion to celebrate an evening steeped in age-old tradition as well as getting in a spot of Scotch whisky tasting, reading a selection of Burns’ poems, virtual tour of the Robbie Burns Museum, dessert making by concocting a Tipsy Laird for afters.
She said: “Burns Night is always a fantastic event at Hall Park, it’s so important to continue these traditions. Our residents enjoyed a hearty meal of Scotch broth, Haggis with neaps and tatties all prepared by our stellar Chef.
The residents at Hall Park Care Home said: “I enjoyed acting out the part of the whisky-bearer and asking everyone to raise a dram to toast the haggis. Burns Night is always a brilliant night here.”
Celebrating Chinese New Year
Staff and residents at Hall Park welcomed in the Year of the Rabbit with a day of celebrations and activities.
Inspired by Chinese culture and traditions, lucky red envelopes were exchanged and the home was decorated with hanging red lanterns. Residents learnt all about the traditions and superstitions of Chinese New Year. Our head chef cooked up an oriental feast for lunch, and residents enjoyed the delicious food washed down with pots of Chinese tea.
Open Day at Hall Park
Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together at Hall Park to enjoy an open day that was held at our home in January.
Hall Park hosted a variety of activities throughout the day including; live entertainment, games, and art and craft sessions, which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.
Staff at Hall Park made everyone feel welcome and were delighted to see different generations having fun together. Visitors enjoyed plenty of refreshments such as Cold beers, burgers and chips, prepared by the catering team, who were hard at work making sure that a great time was had by all – it really was a team effort!
The Residents said, “I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was surrounded by lots of great people, and the refreshments kept flowing. The weather held out until we finished. Staff did a great job, not just on the day, but organising the event and getting everyone together."
