Activities at Hall Park Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Natasha Lindo
Natasha is the Activities Coordinator here at Hall Park. Natasha really enjoys her job as no two days are ever the same. The life enrichment and daily activities program aims to provide stimulation for the mind, body and soul by engaging with residents daily. We all love to use our imagination and here we encourage creative activities. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Life at Hall Park Care Home
Musical mystery tour
Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.
Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.
The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.
Indian Independence Day
Staff and residents at Hall Park care Home got the flags out and celebrated 75th Indian Independence Day in style by hosting a ranch inspired party Indian traditional dancing and Indian food on 15th August 2022.
Many residents have visited India and some have family living there so Indian Independence Day was a great excuse to reminisce about previous trips and go on virtual tours to favourite places such as New Delhi, Kolkata etc. Residents enjoyed movies from the Bollywood as well as dancing to playlists including Bollywood songs. Our home was decorated with themed flags and bunting and we all enjoyed watching Indian cultural ceremonies.
Head Chef enjoyed cooking up chicken curry, tandoori vegan kebabs, Stuffed paratha and traditional snacks and sweets. Jodie Rakhra General Manager at Hall Park Care Home said: “Independence Day is always full of big flavours and a chance for us to celebrate all things Indian.
BBQ
For the first time since the pandemic, the home threw open its doors and invited in the local community for a fantastic day of summer celebrations with a multi-cultural flavour. There were kid’s games, activities, raffles and prizes for everyone to enjoy. Head chef and king of the grill Jamie Wallis was in charge of the barbecue where there were sizzling burgers, sausages, hot dogs, chicken drum sticks and much more all washed down with cold of drinks, ice creams, desserts. Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Wendy Smith commented: “What a brilliant event, it has been such an enjoyable day – I am so grateful to all the staff and residents at Hall Park for inviting me along today. I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone here and meeting so many different community groups, it is a beautiful home and I’m so pleased I was able to come along.”
Opera performance
Our homes had a fabulous time with the talented soprano Astrid Joos from Street Theatre. Astrid spoke about a selection of famous operas and our residents were treated to performances of wonderful arias from operas well-known to all, such as ‘Giuditta’, ‘Don Giovanni’ and ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’.
It was a lovely experience, truly enjoyed by all.
World Chocolate Day
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Hall Park Care home in Bulwell, Nottingham had a fantastic time celebrating World Chocolate Day on July 7, surely one of the best days of the year! Overseen by head chef, staff and residents whipped up a selection of different chocolate treats from chocolate logs to cupcakes, chocolate fudge cake and even a Mississippi mud pie. Once they had cooled, everyone got busy decorating with icing, buttercream, marshmallows, dolly mixture, edible stars and flowers to make some of the most fabulous chocolate creations in town.
