Activities at Hazel Lodge Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

I am thrilled to be part of the team at ‘Hazel Lodge’ and to use the large range of experience I have from within the care sector.

As the Activities co-ordinator I have a real passion for promoting individual well-being and life enrichment and work closely with residents and their families, planning activities and events that they would like to participate in.

Life at Hazel Lodge Care Home

Merriments Gardens

With so much going on in the home to keep you busy ,it's still nice to be able to get out and about on the Hazel Lodge minibus . Recently we visited Merriments Gardens and it was the perfect excuse to test out the delicious cakes and scones on offer .

Knit & Natter

The lovely ladies in our Knit & Natter group are busy knitting and crocheting small squares to make into baby blankets for the hospital and families in need . It's amazing how many different stitches and patterns they can do and all the while chatting and laughing with friends. Such a relaxing and fun afternoon .

National Activity Professionals Week

As part of National Activity Providers & Professionals Week, which takes place from January 22-26. Senior Manager Robert wanted to thank the Sonia our wonderful activities coordinator at the home for all her hard work and for making such a difference to our residents daily lives . Sonia is always planning different things to keep our residents both mentally and physically in tiptop shape.
Thank you Sonia , you're a Star !

Intergenerational Opera

This month we welcomed back the teachers and pupils from Battle Abbey School for the first session of our Intergenerational Opera project.
Thank you to everyone who took part and Charlotte and the team , it really was a fantastic morning and we can't wait to see everyone again next week.
The project will be running over 5 weeks with pupils and residents getting together to learn the story and songs of Carmen in operatic style with a final performance at the end of the project.

Caught in the Act

Caught in the Act! 😁
We decided to kick start our weekly Community cafe with some exercises to burn off all the lovely cake we're about to consume!
We were  joined by Emma and Daryl our local community police officers who happily joined in and put the residents through their paces.

Visit to Wylands

It was a bit too nippy for a trip to the seaside so our residents decided on a drive out to Wylands Farm Shop and Café instead .
It was lovely to have a wander around the farm shop and then stop off for a delicious hot chocolate and scone whilst taking in the beautiful view.
