Activities at Hazel Lodge Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Sonia Teixeira
I am thrilled to be part of the team at ‘Hazel Lodge’ and to use the large range of experience I have from within the care sector.
As the Activities co-ordinator I have a real passion for promoting individual well-being and life enrichment and work closely with residents and their families, planning activities and events that they would like to participate in.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Hazel Lodge Care Home
Valentines Day
We recently hosted a lovely Valentines Day lunch and presented all of our lovely ladies with a single rose . The gents certainly didn't miss out with William receiving a cheeky Valentines card from a secret admirer....I wonder who it could be ??!
Pancake Day
Our residents had a 'flipping' good time yesterday celebrating Pancake Day .
There were giggles all round trying to see who could flip the most , drop the most and even touch the ceiling !
Luckily Chef had plenty for supper where they were enjoyed with a selection of toppings including bananas ,maple syrup, lemon and sugar and ice cream !
Fur Baby Visit
It's amazing the positive impact our pet visits have on not just the residents but the family members and staff too . Everyone was queuing up for a cuddle and there were smiles all round when these fur babies came to visit us recently .
Chinese New Year
Ke Xu from Hastings Chinese Association visited us recently to tell us all about the tradition around Chinese New Year and the customs and celebrations that take part in different parts of China and around the world. 2024 is Year of the Dragon and she brought along a very special guest to show us .
Emma & Daryl our local PCSO's just happened to be popping in to say hello and so joined the residents in listening to the fascinating facts and history.
Merriments Gardens
With so much going on in the home to keep you busy ,it's still nice to be able to get out and about on the Hazel Lodge minibus . Recently we visited Merriments Gardens and it was the perfect excuse to test out the delicious cakes and scones on offer .
Knit & Natter
The lovely ladies in our Knit & Natter group are busy knitting and crocheting small squares to make into baby blankets for the hospital and families in need . It's amazing how many different stitches and patterns they can do and all the while chatting and laughing with friends. Such a relaxing and fun afternoon .
