Activities at Hempton Field Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Pudding Club
For this month's Pudding Club, we took inspiration from a family recipe of one our residents! The much-loved pudding our resident, Pearl, used to make regularly for her family was a Homemade Apple Pie.
This prompted our chef to theme the pudding club all around using apples in the dishes! The selection included Traditional Baked Apples with Sultanas & Brown Sugar, an Upside-Down Apple Sponge, an Apple Snow topped with Caramelised Apple and of course a warm Apple Pie!
Residents, staff and visitors loved tasting all the puddings on offer!
Toddler Group Visit
This morning we had so much fun as we were visited by Starbodler's Toddler Group, run by St Andrews Church in Chinnor! The residents and children enjoyed singing together, playing musical instruments and blowing bubbles!
Flower Arranging
After seeing all the beautiful flowers in our garden starting to bloom, we thought it was the perfect time to appreciate the joys of Spring and create our own flower displays.
One of the ladies has won many rosettes for her flower displays over the years, and couldn't wait to get creative with us at Hempton Field.
Pudding Club
We are thrilled to announce that we have launched our very own Pudding Club.
The idea behind the club is for everyone to come along for a cup of tea and a catch up while trying out different types of puddings – what a truly excellent idea!
Residents, teams, family, and friends alike will have the chance to reminisce about their favourite puddings, past and present, and indulge in some delicious treats, prepared by our talented chef.
Everyone is welcome to join us.
Please stay tuned as we announce the dates for our upcoming pudding events. We hope you are as excited as we are.
Community Knit & Natter
We are delighted to have been invited to join a local community group in Aylesbury! We went along on Wednesday and joined in with the Knit & Natter session which they run weekly.
Currently they are knitting for premature babies, with items such as blankets and headbands being knitted. These will all be donated to the Neonatal Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. We're eagerly looking forward to going again next week and continuing to knit and create new friends.
Tiny Farm Visit Hempton Field!
Hempton Field residents, staff and visitors had a wonderful time with a visit from Lucia’s Tiny Farm. We met Bernard the bearded dragon, Pepper the tortoise, Rosy and Joey the rabbits, Maggie the chicken, lots of Guinea pigs including Adele, Lola and Baby Lou at only 8 weeks old.
Everyone absolutely loved their cuddles with the rabbits and guinea pigs and the braver also met the rats and Bernard! Maggie strolled all around taking in the home and courtyard.
The famous Hempton Field home-made shortbread biscuits were handed out along with some Easter chocolate treats. Thank you so much to the team who bought today together and to everyone who attended, it was lovely to see families with all generations joining in. One family there were four generations attending, which is wonderful.
