Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.

Caroline Evans

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.

I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.

I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Life at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Meet our Junior Ambassadors

Our residents had their first after school club recently with our new Junior Ambassadors from local schools.

They brought an array of games to play and one of our ambassadors had made her own version of a Getting to Know Me book called About Me, which included pictures and photos that are important to them.

One resident said ‘I hope they come back soon, well they will be, for a Christmas Bingo session next month!

Spooky Science

Friend in Deed recently joined us for our spooky science session with local scientist Lucy.

Our residents liked taking part in the fun but most of all loved watching the children and seeing their reactions to the different experiments.  We had a witch flying on a broom, a bubbling cauldron and even a floating ghost!  At the end the children gave each of our residents a colour changing heart as a thank you.  It was definitely a sight to see!

Methodist Singers

It was lovely after two years to welcome back our Hethersett Methodist Singers.

The last time they were here was outside during the pandemic, but recently they entertained our residents inside accompanied by a keyboard, with the words handed out in booklets we were all able to sing along with them.

Junior Ambassadors!

Junior Ambassadors!

Excited to welcome our new 'Junior Ambassadors' to the home, put in touch with us by Friend in Deed.

All 4 of our super kids are from nearby schools and they can’t wait to meet our residents, we look forward to welcoming them back to the home in November for our first after school club!

Pat the dog and check out the chickens!

Residents love our PAT dog Wesley, his calm temperament and adorable face is irresistible.

A new hobby of our memory lane residents is chicken spotting, it has become quite a competitive sport as to who can spot them first, here they are bunkering down for a lovely mud bath in the garden

Is there a Doctor in the House?

Is there a Doctor in the House?

Well, there was recently, one of our little visitors was Doctor Mcstuffin and took great care in making sure our residents were fighting fit, just look at the pictures!

After all that concentration a break was definitely needed, which came in the form of popping bubbles, fun for everyone!
