Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.

Caroline Evans

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.

I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.

I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Art Exhibition!!

Our talented residents have been hard at work on their art projects for the past few months in preparation for the exhibition.

Our art teacher Juli Mobbs spent the day prepping our library for the big event. In the evening we laid the table with a selection of cheeses and wine while the residents, family, members of the community and the local press enjoyed music from the very talented harpist Lucinda.

Once in the exhibition our residents loved mingling with everyone and talking about their work.  Black and White Photo's courtesy of David Willis

Penpals

Our residents recently received lots of letters from the local infant school who are learning about toys in years gone by.

They asked our residents about toys they had and what their favourites were.  The residents have been hard at work replying to them and look forward to hearing from them again!

Meet our Junior Ambassadors

Our residents had their first after school club recently with our new Junior Ambassadors from local schools.

They brought an array of games to play and one of our ambassadors had made her own version of a Getting to Know Me book called About Me, which included pictures and photos that are important to them.

One resident said ‘I hope they come back soon, well they will be, for a Christmas Bingo session next month!

Spooky Science

Friend in Deed recently joined us for our spooky science session with local scientist Lucy.

Our residents liked taking part in the fun but most of all loved watching the children and seeing their reactions to the different experiments.  We had a witch flying on a broom, a bubbling cauldron and even a floating ghost!  At the end the children gave each of our residents a colour changing heart as a thank you.  It was definitely a sight to see!

Methodist Singers

It was lovely after two years to welcome back our Hethersett Methodist Singers.

The last time they were here was outside during the pandemic, but recently they entertained our residents inside accompanied by a keyboard, with the words handed out in booklets we were all able to sing along with them.

Junior Ambassadors!

Junior Ambassadors!

Excited to welcome our new 'Junior Ambassadors' to the home, put in touch with us by Friend in Deed.

All 4 of our super kids are from nearby schools and they can’t wait to meet our residents, we look forward to welcoming them back to the home in November for our first after school club!
