Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home
Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.
Caroline Evans
Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.
I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.
I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Life at Hethersett Hall Care Home
50's Fete
Our summer fete kicked off in style on Saturday with live music from the rock and roll band Shake, Rattle and Roll singing all the classics!
The fete soon became busy with the bar and BBQ being the focal points throughout the day. We had fairground games: Hook the Duck, Splat the Rat, Striker, Tim Can Alley, Yo - Yos, Tiddly Winks and other games spread around the garden.
Quiz and Chips Night
We hosted a quiz and chips night at the home, we had bottles of bubbly and chocolates for the winners and runners up.
After settling everyone into their teams and serving drinks it was time for the first round General Knowledge, after the round finished we had a short break to serve the cartons of chips and top up drinks.
Summer Spangle
We made the most of the gorgeous weather recently with an afternoon outside in the sunshine.
We invited a local steel pan band known as Spangle Pans to come and play in the garden while our residents listened with Pimms in hand.
A wonderful afternoon was spent singing a long to the well known tunes, it was smiles all round!
On your marks...
Norwich Cathedral School and Friend in Deed invited us to a intergenerational sports day recently.
After meeting the students and a quick introduction it was onto the games, there was Bean Bag Toss, Skittles and a Relay Race.
Our residents took part in every event, even beating our own time in the relay! Afterwards there was a nice cup of tea and delicious cakes waiting for our fabulous athletes. It was a fun afternoon and our residents enjoyed chatting with the pupils and meeting new people, we hope we can do more events together in the future.
Motorbike Mayhem
Vintage motorbikes descended on the Hall yesterday and residents were treated to bikes from all walks of life, from Triumphs to Sunbeams, even including a 1926 AJS!
People flocked from the village to see the mint machines in all their glory, bike enthusiast residents were taken back to their youth with the sounds and smells of the engines.
One gentleman said ‘ I remember my first bike, it was a Vespa which i bought for 1 bag of cement and 15 shillings’, amazing!
Animal Therapy
Animals for therapy are so important, the benefits they provide to a persons wellbeing are immeasurable, the smiles and happiness seen in these photos are proof enough!
