Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.

Caroline Evans

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.

I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.

I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Life at Hethersett Hall Care Home

All Aboard!

Here at Hethersett Hall, we value our residents' feedback and requests for activities, so we have been busy planning boat trips—as requested.

We travelled to Stalham and Beccles to enjoy a guided tour along the river with a company called Waveney Stardust, who are a registered charity and all volunteer-based. The volunteers were very welcoming and helpful, they even provided a cup of tea or coffee onboard.

Our residents seemed to really enjoy themselves and luckily we managed to enjoy the last of the summer weather.

A huge thank you to Waveney Stardust for making it so enjoyable, and also to our wonderful team of staff.

Gardens Around the World

Gardens Around the World

We have regular arts and crafts sessions here with Creative Mojo, who invited us to take part in their recent project in association with NAPA, called 'Gardens around the World'.

Foteini has been coming in each week to help residents to create decorations based around different garden themes from around the world, including flowers, trees and animals from Morocco and Dubai.

On Tuesday 24th September, we will take part in a final exhibition, along with other homes around Norfolk, to show off the fantastic work our residents have enjoyed doing.

We feel it is very important to support our residents in expressing their creativity to help enhance their lifestyles as much as possible!

Science Saturday , Science Saturday

Science Saturday

On Saturday 24th August, we were joined by little visitors from Friend in Deed for a science session with a group called 'Mini Professors'. Little visitors and residents had a great time working together on science experiments and learning lots of new things!

We are very grateful to have such a good connection with Friend in Deed, and being part of many exciting events!

Summer Fête , Summer Fête , Summer Fête

Summer Fête

On Saturday 3rd August, we celebrated Jamaican style with our themed summer fete. Amongst the many guests, stalls, candy floss, popcorn, ice cream, tombola raffle, coconut shy and limbo, you may well have spotted a few flamingos, even ones that you could catch in a hoop!

Residents, family members and guests were treated to a hog roast banquet with a tiki bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks treats all day! And, of course, not forgetting the stars of the show, 'Spangle' (an amazing steel pan band!), and a bird show from 'Majestic Falconry'.

A great day was had by all!
