Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.
Ellie Robinson
Hi, my name is Ellie and I am the Activities Co-ordinator here at Hilderstone Hall.
I joined the team in November 2024 having previously worked in hospitality and event planning. I am not new to working in healthcare - earlier in my career I trained and worked as a Care Assistant and obtained my NVQ Level 2 and Higher Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
I bring bags of energy and enthusiasm and I enjoy spending time with Residents, getting to know them individually, their personalities, likes and dislikes. Ultimately, this enables me to plan and deliver a tailored activities programme to suit their wants and needs.
I am also a qualified florist, which supports the creativity involved in the role and I can inspire Residents to participate in regular and new activities and events.
Outside of work, I am a Mum to my young Son, which keeps me busy! In my spare time my family and I enjoy getting out in the the fresh air for walks and there is usually a coffee and cake stop too!

Life at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Bonfire Night
In celebration of bonfire night the activities team and maintenance team put on quite the display of fireworks for our residents, families and the local village. Everybody enjoyed a sparkler, some hot soup followed by hotdogs or burgers. It was lovely night enjoyed by the whole home.
Remembrance Sunday
Our resident, Mary, kindly spent her time cutting out lots of small poppies for our display. Our activities team, work experience student, Charlotte, and admin assistant, Rachel and Mary, had a lovely afternoon putting up the display for our residents to pay their respects to on Remembrance Sunday.
Happy Birthday
Our resident, Richard celebrated his 66th birthday here with us, he enjoyed a morning with his family, followed by a lovely meal together with his fellow residents and friends making lots of happy memories.
Halloween Fun
Our residents here at the Hall had a brilliant time carving pumpkins, which were donated to us from our local Morrison’s. Our manager Liz had a tough decision deciding the winner after everyone did such a fantastic job!
Make a Wish
Our 'Make a Wish' scheme allows one resident each much to do anything they want to, so in light of Keith's wish, we had a lovely afternoon at Uttoxeter Racecourse. Although we only won on one course, we at least managed to stay dry. We look forward to going back forward.
Harvest Festival
In celebration of Harvest Festival this year, our local Vicar Marion came in to Hilderstone Hall to conduct a service. We had such a pleasant afternoon!
Afterwards, we donated the fruit and vegetables to a local homeless shelter, which they were most grateful for.
