Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.

Ellie Robinson

Activities Co-ordinator

Hi, my name is Ellie and I am the Activities Co-ordinator here at Hilderstone Hall.

I joined the team in November 2024 having previously worked in hospitality and event planning.  I am not new to working in healthcare - earlier in my career I trained and worked as a Care Assistant and obtained my NVQ Level 2 and Higher Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

I bring bags of energy and enthusiasm and I enjoy spending time with Residents, getting to know them individually, their personalities, likes and dislikes.  Ultimately, this enables me to plan and deliver a tailored activities programme to suit their wants and needs.

I am also a qualified florist, which supports the creativity involved in the role and I can inspire Residents to participate in regular and new activities and events.

Outside of work, I am a Mum to my young Son, which keeps me busy! In my spare time my family and I enjoy getting out in the the fresh air for walks and there is usually a coffee and cake stop too!

Comic Relief

Comic Relief

What a wonderful day we had celebrating Comic Relief. We had a 45 minute Zumba fitness session for residents, families, friends and staff. Prizes were given for the most outrageously dressed and best effort. It was a fun day!

Wellies & Worms

Wellies & Worms

What a wonderful morning we had when the children from the Wellies & Worms Pre-School came to visit us for Shrove Tuesday. We made pancakes with a lot of very interesting fillings, and had an extra surprise when a resident's son came to visit with his beautiful black Labrador guide dog, Vectra. Both children and residents alike had a wonderful time giving him some fuss and plenty of cuddles.

National Pizza Day

National Pizza Day went down a treat as our ladies and gentlemen had great fun choosing their toppings and making their own pizzas – and then the best part was eating them with homemade chunky chips!

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year

It was lovely to welcome the children from our local village, who came to join us at the Hall as we celebrated Chinese New Year with a Chinese buffet lunch and party games. It was also a great surprise when the children had prepared a song about the Chinese dragon that they performed for the ladies and gentlemen. A real treat for everyone!

Zumba Class

A Zumba class is never dull at Hilderstone Hall, and whether you are family, friend or visitor, you are always welcome to come and join us. Of course, you would be welcome to stay for a chat and a fruit smoothie afterwards.

Burns Night

Wonderful celebrations took place at Hilderstone in recognition of Burns Night. The Mayor and Mayoress of Stone came to join us for lunch, which was delicious. We ended the day by having some wonderful tunes played on the bagpipes.
