Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.
Ellie Robinson
Hi, my name is Ellie and I am the Activities Co-ordinator here at Hilderstone Hall.
I joined the team in November 2024 having previously worked in hospitality and event planning. I am not new to working in healthcare - earlier in my career I trained and worked as a Care Assistant and obtained my NVQ Level 2 and Higher Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
I bring bags of energy and enthusiasm and I enjoy spending time with Residents, getting to know them individually, their personalities, likes and dislikes. Ultimately, this enables me to plan and deliver a tailored activities programme to suit their wants and needs.
I am also a qualified florist, which supports the creativity involved in the role and I can inspire Residents to participate in regular and new activities and events.
Outside of work, I am a Mum to my young Son, which keeps me busy! In my spare time my family and I enjoy getting out in the the fresh air for walks and there is usually a coffee and cake stop too!

Life at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
We are now rated 'Good'!
We recently passed a Care Quality Commission inspection with an overall 'Good' rating after being praised for a responsive, safe, effective, caring and well-led service.
In celebration of the rating and to thank each member of the team for their contributions to the home, staff members were presented with a £100 gift voucher as a token of a appreciation.
Easter Party
We are always delighted when the children from Wellies & Worms come to visit and, especially on this occasion, as they came to perform their little Easter play, which was narrated by a resident of Hilderstone.
To add to the wonderful morning, they also brought along their beautiful pet rabbit for all the ladies and gentlemen to stroke and hold. We then moved outside into our beautiful gardens for the children to enjoy a picnic before taking part in an Easter egg hunt.
It was truly a memorable morning that was enjoyed by all!
Mother's Day
It was Mother’s Day treats all round at the Hall on Sunday 31st, starting with balloons, banners, cards and chocolates, and then on to a 3-course lunch fit for a queen, followed by a relaxing film and a tipple or two of everyone's favourite drinks. Another day to add to our memory book!
Long Service Award
A huge congratulations from all the staff and residents at Hilderstone Hall as one of our staff members, Emma, recently recieved her 10 year service award!
Wellies & Worms Return
The 'Wellies & Worms' playgroup stop by Hilderstone Hall fortnightly and, during their most recent visit, they helped us to create some decoraton for our Easter celebration.
The ladies and gentlemen were ready and waiting for them upon arrival, as they look forward to them visiting the Hall so much. Harriet was a little star, as always, and made sure she got in most of the pictures.
The children are an absolute joy to have in our home and we are already looking forward to their next visit.
St Patrick's Day
St Patricks Day was celebrated in full Irish fashion with Irish stew and dumplings, Guinness cake and a little tipple of whiskey. All of this was followed by a fun-filled afternoon of singing with our entertainer, Geoff. It was a great day!
