Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.
Ellie Robinson
Hi, my name is Ellie and I am the Activities Co-ordinator here at Hilderstone Hall.
I joined the team in November 2024 having previously worked in hospitality and event planning. I am not new to working in healthcare - earlier in my career I trained and worked as a Care Assistant and obtained my NVQ Level 2 and Higher Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
I bring bags of energy and enthusiasm and I enjoy spending time with Residents, getting to know them individually, their personalities, likes and dislikes. Ultimately, this enables me to plan and deliver a tailored activities programme to suit their wants and needs.
I am also a qualified florist, which supports the creativity involved in the role and I can inspire Residents to participate in regular and new activities and events.
Outside of work, I am a Mum to my young Son, which keeps me busy! In my spare time my family and I enjoy getting out in the the fresh air for walks and there is usually a coffee and cake stop too!

Life at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Painting Session
It was a another lovely morning with our fortnightly visit from Wellies & Worms. We had lots of fun as the children painted portraits of the ladies and vice versa. We are all looking forward to their next visit, when we will be planting seeds.
Christmas Day
Well what an amazing day we had yet again at the Hall, but with a very special visitor, as our very own Santa dropped in to deliver gifts to each of our ladies and gentlemen.
Alice in Wonderland
We were recently joined by a group of performers who put on a wonderful production of Alice in Wonderland for us. The ladies and gentlemen really got involved and a family members even had a small part as the Wicked Queen. We are all looking forward to them visiting again in the summer.
Christmas Jumper Day
Christmas Jumper Day went down a treat at Hilderstone Hall with staff and residents joining in the fun and games, a great day was had by all!
The Yarnfield Rainbows
The Yarnfield 1st Rainbows came to visit us at the hall to sing some Christmas carols and recite some poetry. As they did such a wonderful job, it was only fair that they each received a gift from our very own Santa.
Shopping & Lunch
What a wonderful shopping and lunch trip we all had when we visited our local garden centre and restaurant, and, of course, we had to stop and have a singalong with the reindeer. To finish off, we had Christmas pudding with brandy sauce. We may have to go back for another visit very soon to try the mince pies.
