Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo

Activity Coordinator

Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.

Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Rainbows of Joy!

We have received lots of lovely pictures and hanging decorations from the local children who are still going to school in our area. They have sent through lovely well-wishes and these beautiful rainbows and colours!! Our residents have very much enjoyed looking through all the artwork, and they have been hung up in all our communal spaces.

Kind Donations

We were so very lucky to be donated lots of plants from our local garden centre, Scotsdales. As they are not selling as many flowers as they are closed, they were very kind and gave them to us. Our residents have been busy planting them up into our raised beds, pots and in the garden. They really have brought such joy with their lovely colours!

Musical Bingo

Due to the coronavirus, we have been enjoying lots of small group activities. The residents had great fun playing musical bingo, listening and singing to many old time favourites, and then finding the matching name of the song on a card. We kind of lost our way because we were singing too much, and so there was no clear winner!

Magic Table Fun!

Here at Hilton Park, our residents living with dementia love interacting with our 'Magic Light Table'. It has so many games and interactive pictures!

Movement to Music!

It is very important to keep moving as you get older - movement to music is one of the many fun exercise classes that we run here at Hilton Park. An instructor comes in to show us the moves and everybody has great fun getting involved!

Valentines Choir

Residents enjoy a weekly choir session with warm up songs and then into our choir sheets , which our the same songs so lots of repeating and reminiscence . Some residents even enjoyed a dance with Julie the choir teacher whilst singing
