Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo

Activity Coordinator

Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.

Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Dog Show

Hilton Park hosted its annual Dog Show featuring ten entertaining categories from “Waggiest Tail” to “Scruffiest Mutt” as well as “Dog that the judge most wanted to take home”. Categories were judged by members of the Pat Dog Society apart from the "Prettiest Bitch" category which was chosen by our residents. Nancy, owned by Mabel Mercer scooped the award and really enjoyed her prize - as did all the winners! Everyone had a delightful afternoon including the furry competitors and many of our residents said that they cannot wait for next years show!

Summer Fete 2019

Hilton Park hosted its renowned annual Summer Fete over the last weekend in June on what was one the most beautiful days of the year! The sun was shining and lots of residents and their families said it was the best Fete yet! Craft stalls, games, live entertainment from the Cyriacs and a BBQ too - summer is certainly in full swing at Hilton Park!

Pygmy Goats and Chicks visit Hilton Park

Hilton Park residents enjoyed the visit from the Pygmy Goats and baby Chicks. In fact, it was difficult to separate some of the animals who were so contented in the laps and arms of our residents. They certainly had the natural touch!

Fun for all ages as Hartbeeps come to Hilton Park

Hilton park held its first Hartbeeps intergenerational play session this May. Mums, babies and our residents came together for singing, dancing and the sensory session. Our residents loved watching the babies play and even joined in with songs between cuddles too! It was a lovely afternoon for everyone and we are all looking forward to the next session which we will be hosting regularly at Hilton Park

Easter Egg Hunt and Magic Show

Over 30 children from local schools, nurseries and playgroups joined our residents and their families in our beautiful gardens for the Hilton Park Easter Egg Hunt. It was one of the warmest days of the year and we are pleased to report that every delicious chocolate egg was found!  The afternoon was topped off by a spectacular Magic Show which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended this exceedingly popular annual event at Hilton Park.

Up, up and away!

What better way to celebrate an 100th Birthday than to take a trip to the base and meet the crew of the East Anglian Air Ambulance! The special treat was arranged by Barbara McGee of the East Anglian Air Ambulance and Dan Amis, our Home Services Advisor here at Hilton Park to celebrate Dr Cynthia Phillips's 100th year. Cynthia and her daughter Helen thoroughly enjoyed the day exploring the base and meeting the crew. Dr Cynthia said, "It was fascinating to see how far things have come and we both had an incredible day. I will never forget this visit!"
