Activities at Hunters Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall

Activities Coordinator

Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters.  I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity.  I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Hunters Finds Some Prey

Hunters Finds Some Prey

Walks With Hawks made a welcome return to Hunters today, with their ever-popular Birds of Prey display. The residents were able to get up close to the birds whilst enjoying an informative talk on the subject.

Hunters' Country Singer

This week at Hunters, we welcomed Andy Yapp to entertain our residents on General and Memory Lane.

Andy sang an acoustic session of country and traditional folk songs. Everyone was able to join in to sing and dance, with Andy staying behind afterwards for a cup of tea and a chat with the residents.

DIY Bird Boxes

DIY Bird Boxes

In recent arts and crafts sessions, the residents here at Hunters have built and painted their own bird boxes. Some of the residents decided to give the finished boxes away to family members as gifts.

Nutrition Week

Nutrition Week

This week at Hunters we celebrated national nutrition week. The residents on memory Lane spent the afternoon making smoothies, rather than sticking to a set recipe the residents were able to make their own drink with a combination of a number of delicious and nutritious ingredients, including exotic fruit, yoghurt and even honey.

Lula May Visits

Lula May Visits

Yesterday Lula May entertained everyone here at Hunters with a 1950’s themed afternoon of music. As usual Lula stayed behind afterwards to talk to the residents and spend a little time reminiscing over the residents own memories and experiences of the 1950’s.
