Activities at Hyacinth House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

A shopping trip for Eveline.

Our resident Eveline decided to take a trip to Wimborne Minister. Eveline enjoyed her time taking a bus and doing her favourite chore... finding essentials in least imaginative places.

Eveline said she had the most amazing and fun time with her carer Anna exploring local boutiques and walking amongst beautiful architecture.

Fulfilling a special wish.

A resident who only recently relocated to Hyacinth House had a special wish to visit an Oceanarium.

We knew just the place to visit - Oceanarium, Bournemouth. Our resident was delighted to see the underwater life with colourful tropical fish, turtles and the mischievous otters. He loved it so much and was all smiles throughout the day, on his return he shared his amazement with family and friends. We were so happy to be able fulfil this special trip for him.

Easter preparations at Hyacinth House are underway with home-made hot cross buns.

Our residents rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in to making perfect hot cross buns to enjoy later. We all had great fun measuring ingredients, sharing suggestions and tips on baking traditional buns full of spices and sultanas. Chef Amanda made sure the buns were baked until golden.

What a success and taste delicious!

Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed Easter weekend!

Enjoying a beautiful morning stroll at Upton Country Park.

We took in the invigorating fresh air and relished the opportunity to stretch our legs, surrounded in nature's beauty before indulging in some well-deserved refreshments at the tea-room. A cheeky robin was spotted up close seizing an opportunity for some cake on an outdoor table, much to our amusement.

During our walk around the walled garden, cherished gardening favourites, tips and own experiences was shared and we discussed how it will look in full summer bloom, well, we're looking forward to returning to see the transformation. Can't wait!

Tea for Endo

A big thank you to Kat Marsh for hosting the Tea for Endo event and to everyone who attended and contributed towards our charity fundraiser!

It was a morning filled with fun and laughter, prizes and of course, delicious cakes! Anne Griffiths showcased her beautiful Park Lane jewellery range adding extra sparkle to the day.

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women and it takes on average around 9 years to get diagnosed. With March being Endometriosis Action Month we were delighted to be asked to get involved. Anyone affected should visit https://www.endometriosis-uk.org/ for advice and support.

Delighted to welcome this fabulous group to Hyacinth House - The Empowered Women Do Co-working.

The Empowered Women Do Co-working morning hosted by Emma Collins and Claire Addiscott launched at Hyacinth House and went very well.

We were so pleased to offer our meeting room area for this group to work from, and grateful for their lovely feedback on our home.
