Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Festive games
Residents at Iddenshall enjoy a varied life enrichment programme to keep the mind, body and soul active. Each day there are popular group activities bringing everyone together along with individual Resident centred activities.
Residents donned their festive hats to enjoy a fun filled afternoon with a friendly game of dominoes over a cup of tea and slice of Christmas cake.
Gingerbread House Day
We love any excuse to get creative so when we found out it was Gingerbread House Day on December 12, we didn’t need any persuading to get cracking.
Our Residents got busy decorating with icing, marshmallows, dolly mixtures and smarties to make some of the glitziest gingerbread houses in town.
The gingerbread houses look really lovely and they are indeed delicious - what a fun way to spend the afternoon.
Christmas Jumper Day
We are helping to make the world a better place by wearing a festival jumpers today in aid of Save the Children’s annual fundraising event, Christmas Jumper Day.
Our residents have been encouraged to borrow or decorate their own special Christmas jumpers and raise awareness for children in need all around the world. We held our very own Christmas Jumper competition for the most festive!
Some of our residents have been very creative and decorated their own glitzy knitwear with tinsel, stars, baubles and snowflakes.
It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all.
Magic of the Nutcracker
We experienced the magic of the Nutcracker with a special interactive workshop led by English National Ballet Associate Artists.
Our residents were able to take a magical journey thorough Edwardian London and to learn more about the enchanted Nutcracker characters: Clara, the Mouse King, and her valiant Nutcracker doll. The session included a chair-based dance workshop, clips of the ballet on stage and a Christmas carol sing-along, truly enjoyed by all.
Christmas truffles
We had a lovely time joining Paul Hawkins and Steve Wilkes from Unilever for an exciting immersive Christmas experience.
Our residents were welcomed with chocolate treats as Paul and Steve took them on an exciting chocolate truffle making and biscuit decorating journey.
To finish off the Christmas special event, our residents enjoyed a themed quiz and a singalong.
We all had a wonderful time.
Christmas carols
Here at Iddenshall Hall we are excited for the upcoming festive days and our residents got involved in themed activities, provided by local organisations.
Our residents enjoyed an afternoon of smiles with a live music performance that took place at the home. Local children from Tarporley pre-school performed a selection of all-time favourite Christmas songs and carols, which brought happy memories to all. Our residents joined in with the singing, and clapped along.
