Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Easter Baking
Residents molded their own chocolate shaped carrots, ducks and bunnies to go on top of the finished cake after we iced it. We are very proud of the finished product!
Easter Celebrations
The Easter Bunny visited residents at Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View, presenting each of them with an Easter egg just in time for them to be enjoyed over the bank holiday. It was a welcome visit for all concerned and the residents and staff enjoyed cuddles with the Easter Bunny, who very kindly posed for photographs.
90th Birthday Celebrations
Residents at Iddenshall Hall celebrated his 90th birthday this week, so we held a birthday tea party for him. His family came in to join us for the afternoon and everyone enjoyed some champagne and birthday cake together.
We played his favourite Glenn Miller music throughout the afternoon and had a singalong to some of his favourite tunes. He also went on to continue celebrations over the weekend by visiting his family at home and enjoying another party with all his extended family.
Nutrition & Hydration Week
As part of Hydration & Nutrition Week, we hosted an afternoon tea party, where we served delicious and nutritious foods, as well as flavoured teas. We also did a quiz on hydration, nutrition and food, and talked about which food we could make for French Day in July.
Residents enjoyed the selection of teas, which included 'Moroccan Mint', 'Chamomile' and 'Green Tea with Peach'. There was fresh fruit, cheeses, rice cakes and yoghurts available, as well as salads with healthy dressings.
It was an informative and fun afternoon for all!
Pamper Session
Every other Sunday, residents can pop into the salon to be pampered in style.
World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day by celebrating some of our favourite authors, including Anna Sewell, Beatrix Potter and Catherine Cookson. We talked about variations in different types of literature, such as Dr Zeus' work, which was very amusing. It sparked many reminiscence conversations, and was an extremely interactive session.
