Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.

We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.

All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Luisa Painemilla

Activities Coordinator

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall & Beeston View.

I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Easter time at Iddenshall Hall

We have had a fully week of entertainment where everyone has participated, whether doing crafts, cooking and decorating an Easter cake, flower arrangements and much more. All of this has been gratifying for our residents and everything was sweetened with the chocolate eggs that everyone likes.

Happy Easter

Residents of Iddenshall Hall had a wonderful Easter weekend.

We were treated to a delicious lunch in our beautifully decorated home and donned our bunny ears, which made everyone smile.

It is obligatory to indulge in sweet treats at Easter time and Residents had the choice of an Easter cake, which they had helped to decorate or some yummy chocolate eggs (or both) - why not, it is Easter.

Happy Easter from all at Iddenshall Hall!

Nutrition & Hydration Week

Nutrition and Hydration Week aims to highlight, promote and celebrate improvements in the provision of nutrition and hydration locally, nationally and globally.

At Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View we recogise the importance of eating and drinking well to maintain good health and well being.

We celebrated 'Smoothie - Tuesday' by making our own delicious fresh fruit drinks and 'Not dry day Friday' tea - tasting with a variety of flavoured brews.

Comic Relief 2024

We all spent a fun afternoon together supporting Comic Relief.

Residents and Staff at Beeston View donned their red noses to support people facing poverty in the UK and around the world.

There was lots of laughter and groans of dismay from the Residents as they listened to bad jokes, sang and danced together and enjoyed special red nose cakes that had been freshly baked by the chefs.

We hope that you had as much fun as we did!

Church Service, Hymns & Communion

We were blessed to welcome the Revd Jim Bridgman to Beeston View.

Residents gathered in our lounge for an afternoon of hymns, prayer and communion. The content of the service rang familiar with many of our Residents as they naturally sang along to the hymns and joined in with the Lords Prayer.

Faith being a huge part of the lives of many of our Residents, it is important that we continue to offer this opportunity to them whilst in our care.

A huge THANK YOU to Revd Jim Bridgman for partnering with our home and we look forward to welcoming you back again on a regular basis.

British Pie Week

We've had our British Pie Week celebration by baking our own pies and then we had a competition to choose the best flavour. And the options were:

Mince and mash potato pie / Mince beef & onion pie

Veggie pie / Cottage pie / Cheese and potato pie

Thelma, one of our residents, was the one who guessed most right flavours, so she was the winner. We finished by tasting our delicious pies with a glass of beer!
