Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.

We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.

All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home

Chelsea flower show & Bee Day

In Iddenshall the residents enjoyed the flowers and their friends the bees which we brought together and everyone participated, some painting and decorating bees and others making wonderful floral arrangements with the incorporation of bees and we even made a beehive, which made several of them think about the preparation of this delicious product that many of us love. For our floral arranging, we use Roses, Sweet Williams, plus flowers and greeneries from our garden.

St George's Day celebrations!

The celebration led us to think about the legend of St George himself, slaying dragons and the knight with the sword🤺, which we adapted into our time and our style.

We began in the morning by making our own dragon made of pastry, and later decorated the dragon using sliced strawberries and cream - delicious! We also made the shield of St George accompanied by his sword, and 'slayed' the dragon by eating him of course, savouring the exquisite cake with fruit.

In the afternoon, the residents all wanted to become the dragon, and did not hesitate to take photos in front of our decorated wall. Some even dressed in green, it was a great celebration!

Easter time at Iddenshall Hall

We have had a fully week of entertainment where everyone has participated, whether doing crafts, cooking and decorating an Easter cake, flower arrangements and much more. All of this has been gratifying for our residents and everything was sweetened with the chocolate eggs that everyone likes.

Happy Easter

Residents of Iddenshall Hall had a wonderful Easter weekend.

We were treated to a delicious lunch in our beautifully decorated home and donned our bunny ears, which made everyone smile.

It is obligatory to indulge in sweet treats at Easter time and Residents had the choice of an Easter cake, which they had helped to decorate or some yummy chocolate eggs (or both) - why not, it is Easter.

Happy Easter from all at Iddenshall Hall!

Nutrition & Hydration Week

Nutrition and Hydration Week aims to highlight, promote and celebrate improvements in the provision of nutrition and hydration locally, nationally and globally.

At Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View we recogise the importance of eating and drinking well to maintain good health and well being.

We celebrated 'Smoothie - Tuesday' by making our own delicious fresh fruit drinks and 'Not dry day Friday' tea - tasting with a variety of flavoured brews.

Comic Relief 2024

We all spent a fun afternoon together supporting Comic Relief.

Residents and Staff at Beeston View donned their red noses to support people facing poverty in the UK and around the world.

There was lots of laughter and groans of dismay from the Residents as they listened to bad jokes, sang and danced together and enjoyed special red nose cakes that had been freshly baked by the chefs.

We hope that you had as much fun as we did!
