Activities at Kenwyn Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

February's Blue Light Breakfast

Once again, Kenwyn’s Blue Light Breakfast is running each Friday during February at Kenwyn Care Home.

What better way to show our appreciation to our Emergency Services than with pastries and hot drinks or a slice of our homemade delicious cake if preferred?

Here you can see two of our welcome visitors!

Kenwyn's Book Club

Following a recent appeal, we've been overwhelmed with book donations over the past few weeks, transforming our Trelissick Quiet Lounge into a wonderful library space. Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed spending time here reading, selecting books, and sharing discussions about their favourite novels and stories. A very heartfelt thank you to our amazing community for these generous donations. They have not only provided our residents with more to read, but have also fostered socialisation and interaction amongst each other - excitement is brewing as we prepare to launch our very own book club! Thank you again to everyone who contributed.

Pancake Day at Kenwyn!

Happy Pancake Day from Kenwyn!

Today, our residents enjoyed homemade delicious pancakes made by our chefs! Traditionally, Pancake Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday, is celebrated before the start of Lent, a time of fasting and reflection. So it's wonderful to be able to enjoy these sweet treats together!

Are you enjoying a sweet or savoury pancake today? What's your favourite topping?

February's Dementia Cafe

What a fantastic afternoon we had at our Dementia Café this month! Our residents had an absolute blast enjoying live music by Greg Woods, delicious snacks, and lots of treats. Families and friends joined in the fun, dancing alongside their loved ones, and everyone had a go at belting out some tunes karaoke-style! Our Dementia Cafés are always a wonderful opportunity for you to enjoy a special time and make special memories with loved ones.

So, mark your calendars for our next event – the Easter Dementia Café on Friday, March 29th! Stay tuned for more details to be announced soon. We can't wait to see you there!

January's New Beginnings

January symbolises fresh starts, and what better way to embody this than through the creativity of butterflies and nature. Our residents had a wonderful time expressing themselves through art this week and creating beautiful representations of new thoughts and ideas for the new year ahead. Creative art is a wonderful way to express feelings and our residents look forward to these regular art sessions.
