Activities at Kings Park Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Kings Park Care Home
Chilly Days
The blustery and chilly weather didn't stop our residents wishing to go to the beach at Branksome Dene for some fresh air and wind swept scenery! Wrapped up well we had a short walk along the promenade before warming up with hot drinks in Branksome Beach Restaurant & Cafe. The beach is a favourite spot for many of our residents - even through the winter!
Active in our Community
Whether it's a minibus trip to the New Forest, a short walk to our local library or some in-home arts and crafts, we have everything to offer our residents here at Kings Park who love being active in and around their community!
Monkey World Visit
What a busy day we had at Monkey World in Wool! A great day where we saw monkeys swinging around or sunbathing. We stopped for a picnic lunch and a bit of a rest as we did a lot of walking. After lunch we carried on and saw the orangutans and chimpanzees. Before departing, we visited the gift shop and bought a toy chimpanzee for each floor so the residents could remember their day out. Heading home, some of us had a snooze during the journey – not the driver of course!
Settling into Kings Park
It's so lovely seeing Kings Park come to life now that residents are settling into our brand new care home!
From pre-lunch drinks, to a fabulous 'Duck with Red Wine Jus' served by our Chef, Tim and with a trip to Monkey World in between (photos coming soon so keep an eye on our page!) we really are 'Celebrating Life' here at Kings Park
Autumnal Fun
We welcomed our newest resident this week - please say 'Hello' to Sam the Scarecrow!
With all the rain and wind over the last few days, the residents stayed in the warm and enjoyed various autumnal-themed activities, and making Sam was a favourite.
Unfortunately, due to the amount of straw Sam was dropping, our Housekeeper, Jo, decided he would need to reside in our garden gazebo, and can be seen waving off the pigeons to stop them landing.
Off to the Beach
What better way could there be to spend a warm late September afternoon than an enjoyable minibus trip to the beach?
It was our very first trip in the Kings Park minibus, and we headed off to Branksome Chine for a lovely stroll along the promenade and a glass of chilled rose wine while we watched some yachts out at sea.
Our activities schedule has been very busy ever since we opened our doors to residents just two weeks ago, and Hannah, our Activities Coordinator, has lots of special ideas planned for October.
