Activities at Kings Park Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Kings Park Care Home
Kings Park's First Ever Christmas Tree is UP!
We are delighted to be supporting, alongside our sister home Barchester Healthcare Moors Manor, St Martins URC, with their West Moors Christmas Tree Festival this week. The Church is open for the public to see the trees from 11am-5pm on Wednesday and Thursday 1st & 2nd December; 11am-9pm on Friday 3rd December and 11am-2pm on Saturday 4th December. Entry is free but all voluntary donations will go to Macmillan Caring Locally based at Christchurch Hospital and to the British Heart Foundation. If you can, pop down to see them!
International Carers Rights Day
We were delighted to support 'International Carers Rights Day' being celebrated by Prama in the Allendale Centre in Wimborne on Thursday 25th November 2021!
Along with Barchester Healthcare Moors Manor and Barchester Healthcare Upton Bay we were available for carers to pop by, have a chat and pick up a few goodies! It was lovely to say hello to those we already know and to see new faces.
Chilled Evenings
What better way to wind down in these chilly evenings than to put your feet up and listen to the talented pianist Mark Bussell play all our favourite pieces of music from loved TV programmes to West End hits.
Shopping for Christmas Decorations
What better way to start preparing for Christmas than a trip to Haskins Garden Centre for each of our residents to purchase a decoration for our Christmas Tree!
We have had to split the trips over a few weeks as our minibus isn’t the Tardis! Here are our first group who chose some lovely baubles and decorations.
What a surprise we got too when we bumped into residents and staff from our sister home Barchester Healthcare Moors Manor in St Leonards!
Ferndown Remembrance Parade
Our residents, relatives and team braved the chilly weather to support the Ferndown Remembrance Parade as they walked along Church Road and past Kings Park. Lest We Forget.....
You Said.....We Did
At Kings Park, and indeed at Barchester, our residents’ wishes, thoughts and proposals are taken very seriously
Joan has always loved Moules Marinière and her daughter always cooks this dish for special occasions. So our Head Chef, Tim, got straight on the case and added it to the menu!
Today was the first time it was served and it was greatly enjoyed by our residents’. Joan commented ‘They were delicious!’
The alternative Main Course, which was also very popular with residents’ was home cooked Chicken Kiev with Sauté Potatoes and Fried Onions, Roasted Butternut Squash and Steamed Cauliflower.
What would be your chosen dish on a menu?
