Activities at Lancaster Grange Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Lancaster Grange Care Home
Rainbow Hearts
Residents on our memory lane community enjoyed making rainbow hearts to help keep spirits high.
Embracing Technology
We have embraced technology here with Skype so that residents can talk to their families.
Felicity is enjoying a call with her daughter, Caroline. At first, some of our residents struggled with the fact that they could see their loved ones "on TV", but now we are making regular calls daily and thoroughly enjoying this brilliant thing called Skype.
Tour Around Spain and Portugal
'How hot is the weather here in Spain', one of our residents commented on our regular Armchair Travelling activity through the Spanish islands, while sipping sangria and enjoying Madeira cake brought back from a residents family holiday.
Our captain's table meal was really tasty Tom, our Peri chief, made a tasty paella and we indulged in crème caramel and a desert wine.
We had guests, Tony and Pauline, and members from Claypole women's institute and Laurence Goff, a member of Newark community first aid and his wife. What an amazing week in Spain and Portugal we had.
Liberty Liner LG-175
During week 9 of our Armchair Travelling session, we docked in Greece, this week was such fun, as we have really got into the spirit of Greece, Athens, eating and sampling olives and lovely cheese and wines.
A tasty Greek feast was prepared by our head chef, Dan and we welcomed visitors in from the Raf Balderton branch, staff and family members enjoyed our Greek week.
Lovely Time Out
We recently took a drive out to a lovely café called the Turquoise Teapot, this is a family business where 2 brothers run the café owned by their mum, The café in itself was spacious and warm and cosy , we were immediately made to feel welcome and the guys quickly interacted with our residents making them laugh and smile.
We found out when leaving that they both have backgrounds in care and this just shone through, we finished off the morning with a mooch around the charity shop next door and we bought ourselves a few fun items. We came back with a piece of coffee cake for our general manager, Colleen, who was very happy indeed.
Around the World Cruise
We are so enjoying our around the world cruise in 12 weeks, we have currently docked in south Africa after leaving Canada last week, and what a wonderful place this is, we have arm chaired travelled around the cape town and taken in breath taking sights we have dined at the captain's table and enjoyed Bobotie.
We have taken in the wild life and the wonderful nature, what a wonderful place to have visited on our cruise, Our south African guests felt most at home and our residents have thoroughly enjoyed the culture.
