Activities at Latimer Court Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us.

Life at Latimer Court Care Home

Latimer Court Open Day

A lovely morning was spent with Debbie Miles performing to the residents for our open day after having our WOW refurbishment.

Debbie always brings interaction and a party atmosphere to the residents who live with us.

There was lots of dancing and singing with fun and laughter.

St Peter's Garden Centre

We all had a great time at St Peter's Garden Centre seeing all the lovely Christmas decorations, the real Christmas Trees and looking around to buy nice Christmas gifts for loved ones.

We also went into the café and had hot drinks and cake which all the residents enjoyed.

A lovely time spent together enjoying each other’s company and having a laugh having photos taken outside.

On the return journey back to Latimer court it was great seeing all the Christmas lights on people’s houses too.

Flower Arranging

The ladies who live with us here at Latimer Court enjoyed flower arranging this week and enjoy the activity once a month.

Doing this brings fond memories back tending to their gardens at home, and for some they used to do Flower Arranging for different occasions.

The smells of the flowers were lovely, naming the flowers was fun! Later that day, it was lovely to see the arranged flowers in the dining rooms on the tables when the residents were having lunch and dinner.

Cupcake

The Residents enjoyed decorating Cup Cakes and Gingerbread Men this week.

There was lots of fun and laughter and chatting, and the best part was eating the cupcakes and Gingerbread Men after the residents had finished decorating them, they were very yummy!

PAL Fitness

The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.

Latimer Court Care Home in Darwin Avenue, Worcester recently presented PAL Fitness with a cheque for £2500.  PAL Fitness is based at Evesham Football club and has its own Velopark where all ages and abilities can ride bikes around the track, they have bikes available to put wheelchairs on and someone available to assist individuals riding the bikes.

Stan brook Abbey

Jenny, Mavis and Margaret chose for their Dream Come True wish to go for Afternoon Tea at Stan brook Abbey. It was lovely seeing them get ready in their lovely clothes. All three Ladies enjoyed the journey to Stan brook and had photos on arrival outside the Abbey in the nice weather
