Activities at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Kimberley Calvert
Hi my name is Kimberley, Senior Activities Coordinator, and here at Leeming Bar our life enrichment programme is varied, providing choice for our residents and incorporating their interests and hobbies. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within Leeming Bar, and we work together to give residents the best possible experience.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents, and their families and friends.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

'Sole' Mates
Our 'Sole Mates' Walking Group has been out and about blowing away the cobwebs!
Our community walking group takes place on the first Friday of the month at 11am, and is a perfect way to stay active, make friends, and create meaningful moments!
We hope to see you on our next jaunt; everyone is welcome!

Food Bank Donations
The team has recently been out sharing smiles in the community!
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated non-perishable food items for ‘Hambleton Foodshare’. This charity works tirelessly to ensure our community never goes without, and are incredibly grateful for this donation.
The home will continue to collect for the food bank and drop off monthly. Please consider adding non-perishable food items and toiletries to our collection basket at the home's entrance.
Thank you!

Valentine's Day Celebrations!
Love was in the air at LBG as we celebrated our loved ones & each other! Whilst Valentine's Day traditionally celebrates romantic love, we used this opportunity to celebrate our love for one another and the beautiful friendships that blossom so effortlessly in the home.
Our incredible dining team created an indulgent afternoon tea including traditional sandwiches, savoury scones, and buttery pastries, accompanied by an array of sweet treats including delicious red velvet cake and chocolate-dipped biscuits, courtesy of our incredibly talented second chef, Suzanne! Huge compliments were sent to Mark, Suzanne, Michelle, and Simon from the dining team.
Following afternoon tea, our 'Spirit Lifters' Community Choir saw us celebrate our love of music as Liz from ‘Liz Latta's Music Matters’ joined us for an enthusiastic sing-along to all our favourite love songs of the decades! A big thank you to everyone who came along to share in the love, including our wonderful friends Michelle Dearlove from ‘Bedale Benefice of Churches’ and Wendy and Jack the dog from ‘Therapy Dogs Nationwide’.

Pony therapy makes hearts gallop!
Leeming Bar Grange was filled with flowers, cards, sweet treats, and the distinct clip-clop of hooves in celebration of St Valentine’s Day!
Staff and residents celebrated the day of love by welcoming Hazel the therapy pony from KL Pony Therapy. Hazel was dressed up to the nines in her love-bug rug, complete with glittery hooves! Hazel loved trotting around the home greeting everyone, just as much as the residents enjoyed getting lots of love & snuggles from her!

Farmer Frank! Resident realises dream
Our wonderful community came together to celebrate the birthday of our lovely resident Frank!
Frank is the epitome of 'you can take the farmer out of the farm, but you cannot take the farm out of the farmer'. Farming runs through Frank's veins, so it seemed only fitting to bring some of that farm life back to Frank for his special day!

Owl You Need Is Love
Our wonderful owl-loving resident, Alma, was recently surprised by a very special visitor. Whooo you might ask...
Ghost the barn owl brought tears to Alma's eyes as she was able to get up close and personal with this beautiful bird, and learn more about these magnificent creatures!
