Activities at Lethen Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends

Life at Lethen Park Care Home
Enjoying a spot of gardening
Resident, Mabel had a huge amount of fun helping in the garden making the most of the dry weather. Mabel has always loved being in the garden and was very keen to help with all the weeds. Mabel was weed picking, turning soil and planting tatties.
Mabel was very happy by the time the tea trolley came! And was very proud of the work she did.
Come sing!
Residents across our homes and hospitals had a fantastic time with vocal coach Dan Cooper from Biiah as he led an amazing sing-a-long session for residents to enjoy.
Residents who joined the event were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ by Jimmy Cliff and ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles.
Across our homes there were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.
Harrogate Chocolate Factory
We had a brilliant time across our services with Harrogate Skills 4 Living as they took us on a wonderful virtual visit to their Harrogate Chocolate Factory.
Residents were thrilled to discover details about the chocolate-making process and the fascinating journey from bean to bar, all while enjoying some delicious sweet treats.
The Factory aims to employ people with learning disabilities and autism, involving them in all parts of the process, from sorting and roasting the beans to packaging and sales. The experience was truly enjoyed by all who joined this event.
Beat the Clock
We continue to celebrate a varied life enrichment programme and across our services we linked up with other Barchester care homes and hospitals up and down the country for some interactive Beat the Clock games.
Our residents truly enjoyed solving word puzzles, conundrums and mathematical problems as part of Barchester’s very own game show series.
Everyone who joined had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.
Resident Ambassador enjoys chatting with Residents
Our resident ambassador has been very active in the home supporting and chatting to his fellow residents and Lewis and Alan spent the morning chatting over shared interests.
Alan was a former lorry mechanic and lorry enthusiast, whilst Lewis also had a great deal of passion for this type of commercial transportation as his son drives lorries all over the UK.
Lewis really brought out Alan’s chatty side, giving him time to talk, he was patient with Alan and Alan really loved the company.
Easter Bonnets
Hazel, had a very beautiful morning with the activity team. During a 1-1 with Amanda, hazel has expressed that when she was a very small girl she use to enjoy wearing Easter bonnets to Church. Hazel took a great deal of pride in telling Amanda all about the magic that was created from designing your own Bonnet. With this in mind Amanda Went to the shops and bought the material for Hazel to design her very own Bonnet. Hazel went one step further and not only designed and created her own fabulous bonnet, she also made a bonnet for our WOW construction team.
Hazel was absolutely delighted to see everyone with a huge smile on their faces and Hazel said “I had a beautiful morning making all these hats, I now need a cup of tea”.
