Activities at Lochduhar Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Lochduhar Care Home

Are You Dancing?

Are You Dancing?

In August, Lochduhar held an 'Are You Dancing?' competition, whereby professional dancers, David and Lynn Walker, demonstrated some of the most popular ballroom dances. Staff and residents then took to the floor in an attempt to be crowned the Lochduhar 'Are you Dancing?' champion!

Many laughs were had when staff took to the floor, and it was resident, Eric, who took the crown, along with his partner, Margaret the Activities Coordinator.

A great afternoon was had by all who attended.

Cash for Kids

Cash for Kids

A fun day was had on Friday 27th April, when staff dressed up to help raise funds for the 'Cash for Kids' charity run by local radio station, Westsound.

An array of characters arrived at Lochduhar on the day, including Dusty Bin, Little Red Riding Hood, a clown, a hippy and a group of nuns. During the day, we were visited by local radio host, Tommy Jardine, who posed for some pictures.

Staff who gained new qualifications were presented with their certificates during the day, and two groups of staff performed dances to entertain the people who live at the home.
