Activities at Longueville Court Care Home

Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.

The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.

The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.

Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

A Walk to Ramblewood Inn

A very refreshing afternoon in the shade at our local watering hole Ramblewood Inn We decided to walk to the pub which is very handy as it’s only 5 mins from the home. We then sat and talked about days gone by, it was just the perfect day.

Beach Themed Afternoon

As the weather was so hot we decided to have ice lollies and ice cream floats in our beach themed garden. (In the shade)

Music was playing as we reminisced about being at the sea side & making sand castles. Brought back some great memories.

Personal Shopping Trip

We popped to the indoor shopping plaza at Hampton then to Tesco to get lots of goodies and treats. Some residents wanted their nails done professionally and others needed personal shopping items. Afterwards a nice rest and a chat at Tesco EXTRA, Serpentine Green Center cafe for a cuppa & a tea cake.

PAT Dogs 'Daisy and Pearl'

Another perfect afternoon of smiles and kisses.

Our two PAT dogs Daisy & Pearl haven’t been for a while because of the heat. But they came in for the day today and thoroughly enjoyed the attention and treats. We even have some residents now that buy some special treats for them. It’s so lovely to see the joy on our residents faces when these two come running into their rooms.

Shetland Pony Play Day

Meet Pickles & Charlie our very well behaved Shetland ponies. Thank you Lindsey and her team from Pixie and Pickles Adventures for bringing these two adorable ponies to Longueville Court. Our residents hand fed them with carrots and apples and they also went in some of our residents room for a sneaky carrot or two. Not only did our residents get lots of cuddles and licks but they also left us a small gift for our roses. So thoughtful I’m sure Paul our gardener will love the gift!

So thoughtful... I’m sure Paul our gardener will be happy.

Swinging Songs

Our Friday singer was the amazing entertainer - 'Richie Lee'.

Thank you Richie for a lovely afternoon of 50's and swing songs. Our residents and staff were singing and dancing and we even did a bit of hand jive. Thank you Nasco our chef for the lovely cakes and coffee. We needed it after all that singing.
