Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home
The Grand National
Our social Sunday became a social Saturday. We did a fun sweepstake with the residents and staff. Our prizes were champagne, chocolates and, of course, the winnings.
We saw our residents studying form in the racing post, choosing very wisely who they thought might win the race.
Our social afternoon was a themed day at the races with champagne, cold buffet nibbles and beautiful fascinators for all our residents that participated.
Flower Power
A huge thanks to our superstores Morrison’s and Tesco, who kindly donated bunches of flowers for our residents for Mother’s Day. The lounges and rooms looked vibrant and beautiful. Residents participated in flower arranging, which is definitely one of their favourite activities.
Sunday Socials
The highlight of the week is our Sunday Socials; it's such a great atmosphere. There are different themes every week, laid out by our fabulous activities ladies.
In the last month, we’ve covered quite a few themes, from afternoon cream tea for Mother’s Day to French Language week.
The Power of Touch
Our brand new interactive table, which was kindly funded by one of our resident’s husband, Mr Puplett. Thank you so much, this table absolutely fantastic.
Think of a giant iPad on wheels. This table can be played independently or in a group; it stimulates movement by inviting participants in all sorts of different fun activities, such as popping bubbles, quizzes, exercises, colouring in pictures, YouTube concerts, Zoom and much much more. The table is robust and portable and gets updated weekly with different apps.
A Taste of Europe
We had an afternoon of wine and cheese tasting; wines from different countries and cheeses from all over the world. We also served a selection of Italian salamis, olives and aperitifs.
We will definitely be having another Tapas afternoon in the next few months. All our residents from all communities were invited to our little social distance soiree. For those that couldn’t make it, no one missed out as we visited their rooms and took a small selection of cheeses and wine for them to enjoy.
Chinese New Year
A lovely afternoon of Chinese hot nibbles, going from room to room. We had some Chinese festival music and our residents made a wonderful dragons head, hanging lanterns, and paper chains in their arts and crafts classes. We then decorated the whole of the reception area.
