Activities at Longueville Court Care Home
Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.
The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.
The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.
Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home
A happy reunion for Steven and Alf
Steven was delighted to see his dad, Alf, in person for the first time in nearly four months. Steven moved to Longueville Court in 2018, where he lives in our community for adults with disabilities. He lived here previously for a few years too. Steven has cerebral palsy and communicates using a computer. He and Alf were overjoyed to see each other again, and Alf desperately wanted to hug his son, but that will come one day. They are now enjoying regular weekly visits.
60th Wedding Anniversary celebrations
Staff and residents at Longueville Court were delighted to celebrate Renata and Bruce's 60th wedding anniversary, by holding a small socially distanced reception for them and their daughter, Sarah, in the garden in front of our care home. Renata is a resident here and current circumstances mean that Bruce was not able to put on a lunch party with friends and family at their own home. However, we wanted them to have a meaningful celebration and the opportunity to reflect on everything they have achieved together, including their time at university, their careers, their wedding, raising their two daughters, enjoying retirement and travelling the world. We arranged refreshments, a gift table, a celebration cake and balloons. We all enjoyed seeing their happiness and hope we have given them some good memories of their very special celebration. Congratulations Renata and Bruce!
Enjoying a quiet hobby
At Longueville Court we encourage people to continue with their hobbies when they move here. Residents enjoy a wide range of activities including gardening, music, crafts, bird spotting and supporting a favourite football team. Julie likes the peace and creativity of making beautiful flower arrangements for her bedroom and to be enjoyed by everyone in the shared areas.
Beetle drive fun with friends
Richard, Julie, Rae and Terry all spent a lovely afternoon together enjoying a fun beetle drive and other table games at Longueville Court.
Enjoying some games in the sun
Residents enjoyed taking some board games outside to make the most of the sunshine and the lovely gardens at Longueville Court. Gail from the Activities Team joined in the friendly competition.
Thank you for the Music
Residents at Longueville Court had a great day enjoying the music of Abba and making their own glam accessories for the party. Julie and Terry wore their Abba specs to watch Mama Mia and everyone enjoyed taking a chance on being the dancing queen.
Thank you for the music, Abba!
