Activities at Lydfords Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Lydfords Open Day

Residents, staff and visitors had a lovely time at Lydfords Open Day.

Stall holders came in for the morning and everyone was able to have a look and do some shopping. Helen  showcased her beautiful handmade jewellery and gave a demonstration on how she makes her pieces. After lunch, the talented Jon McDevitt came in to sing. It was enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.

The Mayor of Hailsham also joined us for the day. He had tea with the residents and  joined in with days events.

Christingle Crafts

Christmas traditions were happening within the home between residents and the children of East Hoathly CofE primary school who created lovely Christingles for the afternoon church service. Everyone worked together, had fun and the end results were brilliant. It was also a chance to reminisce about Christmas when they were young and the things they enjoyed doing in the lead up to Christmas.

Christmas Jumper Day

We are helping to make the world a better place by wearing a festival jumpers today in aid of Save the Children’s annual fundraising event, Christmas Jumper Day.
Our residents have been encouraged to borrow or decorate their own special Christmas jumpers and raise awareness for children in need all around the world.
Sky won the competition this year and Sue presented her with the prize.
