Activities at Lydfords Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Carole Hierons
Hello, my name is Carole and I am the Activities Lead here at Lydfords.
I have worked in this role for many years and I would not to do anything else.
My job is to plan and oversee the amazing life enrichment activities and trips for all of our residents. It is such a rewarding role and I love planning and doing crafts with everyone.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Visit from East Hoathly School
Following on from our pen pal scheme with the school, today we have been privileged to have some lovely Year 5 and 6 visitors from East Hoathly Church of England Primary School and Nursery
They each brought along a book to share with a group of residents, which as you can see, brought lots conversation & smiles.
Thank you for coming along and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
International Nurses Day 2022
Today is International Nurses Day 2022, so to say Thank You to our amazing health care colleagues, Deputy Manager Rikki Bury and Home Service Advisor Laura Tee, have been out to visit Uckfield Hospital, Crowborough Hospital and the district nursing team at Heathfield Community Health Centre, with some home baked treats from Head Chef Harry.
Thank You to all the wonderful nursing teams across East Sussex!
Employee of the month April 2022
Congratulations to April 2022 Employee of the Month - Rose!
Rose was nominated for Employee of the Month for her positive and caring attitude and always putting the residents needs first.
Congratulations Rose, very well deserved!
I'm in the mood for dancing!
Barchester Healthcare promotes and supports a "whole home" approach.
At Lydfords we go one step further and encourage hidden talents to come to the fore.
Here is Lydfords Head Housekeeper Erin and one of Lydfords residents enjoying a spur of the moment dance!
Pickles - PAT (Pets as therapy) Dog visit
This weekend we had a lovely visit from four-legged friend Pickles.
Pickles is a registered PAT Dog (Pets as therapy),
A friendly PAT visit is a chance for residents to chat and reminisce about past experiences or much-loved pets.
Studies have shown that interacting with a PAT Pet can improve a person’s mental health and overall wellbeing.
Easter Donation
We would like to say a very big Thank You! to Dorothy that kindly donated her winning prize, this ginormous egg, from the Village Hair Shop raffle, to Lydfords.
